I spent most of last month chomping my way across London. And that was just one short installment in my platetrotting journey across England's deliciously varied capital city.
This post is long overdue. But as they say, better late than never!

Best For: Low Key Brekkie - Machine Cafe
LOVE: Their smooth flat whites, bike saddle stools, recycled tire tables, quirky barista job ads and the fact that you can actually get your bike repaired in the back!
Best for: Full English Brekkie - Roast
LOVE: Perfectly poached, runny-in-the-middle eggs, views over morning Borough Market mayhem and the trains trundling past the window.
Best for: Authentic Dim Sum - Joy King Lau
LOVE: Flaky roast pork bun, old school decor and narrow rooms piled one over the other, Chinese tourists queuing outdoors for a taste of home.
Best for: Contemporary Dim Sum - Leong's Legend
LOVE: Crispy shredded turnip puff, knock-to-enter policy.
Best for: Brunch - Dishoom
LOVE: Bacon naan roll (Yes, it exists. Deliciousness!), steamy masala chai, Irani cafe culture, Mumbai nostalgia-inducing vibe.
Best for: Morning Grazing - Maltby Market
LOVE: Salty Loins pork sandwiches, grilled oysters and fresh fried whitebait, location near reclaimed furniture store Lassco.
Best for: Quick, Quirky Lunch - Bao
LOVE: Soft as air bau filled with tender confit pork, trotter nuggets, stare-diners-down-as-you-wait-in-line queuing policy, bao-munching-man logo.
Best for: Great Value Michelin Lunch - Medlar
LOVE: Varied and well-priced business lunch menu (try the duck egg tart with red wine sauce), leaf green banquettes, modern art and pearl-endowed clientele.
Best for: Afternoon Tea - The Wolseley
LOVE: Generous serving of scones and clotted cream, Wolseley special blend tea, Viennese coffee house charm, silver tea pot collection.
Best for: Cheeky Schooner of Sherry - Gordon's
LOVE: Extensive list of sherry, port, madeira... all my favs! Cave-like interior, bar plaques dedicated to loyal customers who are no more.
Best for: Evening Grazing - Brixton Market
LOVE: Caribbean delights at Fish, Wings & Tings, hot takoyaki balls, Champagne & Fromage enjoyed with blankets to keep you warm.
Best for: Cheap & Cheery Chinese - Silk Road
LOVE: Doughy "belt" noodles in the Big Plate Chicken - a Xinjhiang specialty, studenty prices, communal tables.
Best for: Hip, Ethnic Eatery - Hoppers
Love: Egg hoppers and chutneys, succinct and superb menu, Sri Lankan movie posters.
Best for: Casual Dinner with a View - Blueprint Cafe
LOVE: Mellow wines, London's iconic skyline at twilight
Best for: Hidden Gem - Corner Room
LOVE: Plump oysters with cucumber granita, creamy clotted cream icecream, industrial light installation, limited seating and gorgeous original Art Deco interiors of the Town Hall Hotel.
Best for: Speakeasy Vibe - Bermondsey Arts Club
LOVE: Creative cocktail list, late night jazz, location in a converted old public loo.
